Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe has an astounding diversity
of terrain and despite the recent political and economic setbacks,
still offers an incredible variety of safari options. Hwange
remains one of the region's premier national parks, Mana Pools
in the Zambezi Valley offers the most exciting and adventurous
canoe trails, and Matusadona on the shores of Lake Kariba
is unbeatable for its thrilling African sunsets.
The hugely impressive Victoria Falls, one
of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, remains the country's
most popular destination and a must for all visitors.
Zambia
This landlocked central African country
is one of the most under-rated safari destinations on the
continent. It has a legendary reputation for its walking safaris,
and being rather less developed than most of its southern
and northern neighbours, it has massive appeal as a more remote
and rustic option.
Like Zimbabwe, the mighty Victoria
Falls and all the adrenaline activities that are associated
with this great river are Zambia's major attraction. Further
afield, the vast wildlife sanctuaries of South Luangwa and
Kafue are extremely rewarding, and the Lower Zambezi, the
Bangweulu Swamps and North Laungwa add their significant appeal. |
